The NuViu Remote Administrator

The Remote Administrator is a simple, small application that you can run on your Windows or OS X system to offer quick and temporary access for a NuViu Technologies representative to provide direct visual assistance on your computer.

The connection is initiated on your request, from your computer. This means that we can't access your computer unless you specifically ask us to. Once we disconnect, we can't connect again until you make another request.

With Remote Administrator, a representative can guide you through software setup, support existing software, or configure your computer. You can see what we're doing the whole time. It's a perfect way to receive instant technical support.

How it Works

The Remote Administrator uses a popular VNC-based technology (virtual network connection) that allows us to remotely control and administer your computer. Since the connection starts at your request, most network firewalls won't block the connection, allowing us to administer any computer no matter where it is on your network - as long as you make the request first.

The Remote Administrator can only be used when you are currently in a support call with NuViu Technologies. If you are in communication with us, by phone, email, or instant message, we will provide you with a special code that you can enter which will allow us to establish our connection with you.

Using the Remote Administrator

Windows

For Windows Users (490 Kb)

Download the file, and save it to an easy location such as your desktop or documents folder. Once the file has been saved, double-click the icon to run it.

When it is running, you will see a small blue icon with a white arrow in your system tray, beside the clock.

Double-click this icon, and enter the numeric code for the NuViu Server that has been provided by a NuViu representative, and you're done!

When we disconnect, you are free to delete the file.

Mac OS X

For OS X Users (245 Kb)
Download the file, and OS X will extract the Application for you. You may either launch it by double-clicking the icon, or you may drag it to your Applications folder and launch it from there.

Once running, you will be asked for a Host. A NuViu Representative will supply you with the number you need to enter here. Type it in, click "Start Server" and you're done! When we disconnect, you are free to move the Application to your Trash.
