What is it?

NuViu's Computer Health Check (CHC) is a special service we provide to our clients to provide you with maximum protection online, and to ensure your computer is running at its best performance. It is a series of checks and routines we perform to make sure that you are protected from online threats, and that regular updates are performed. We provide a report for you, to let you know what areas need attention.

CHC's are best if performed right after you get a new computer, and scheduled monthly, especially as part of a SafeGuard Preventive Maintenance Plan. Once an initial checkup is performed, routine check-ups each month can usually take between ten and twenty minutes, and in some cases can even be performed remotely using the NuViu Remote Administrator.

Special Notice: Microsoft offers a system called Windows Live OneCare which provides protection and maintenance services for Windows XP and Windows Vista. The NuViu CHC system offers many of the same services available from OneCare, plus a number of additional services not available through the OneCare system, including personal connection with a variety of PC's within your organization, including Linux and Mac OS X systems, and customization of maintenance plans without the need for a regular IT staff member to manage them.

How it works

We check a series of key areas on your computer and make sure that everything works the way it should. This includes system updates, virus scans, etc. Once we complete the CHC, we will provide you with a basic report of everything that we discovered, what was fixed, and we'll offer suggestions on what you can do to improve performance or prevent problems in the future. A CHC is meant to be performed on a regular basis - usually once a month for each computer, depending on how frequently you use your computer. We can then look back over the months and identify a series of events that may be contributing to poor computer health to anticipate potential problems down the road. This is especially important for identifying your overall computer's performance and available disk space, and we can let you know that based on your history, you may need to consider upgrading certain components in the near future.

Partnership Rates

Starting in June 2006, we now offer 6-month and 12-month CHC Maintenance Plans. You can optionally choose to purchase 6 or 12 months in advance, to cover complete services for that period. These services are intended primarily for business users with a network of two or more computers, and covers a first checkup, monthly checkups and system backup solutions.
